Safety should be every companion's top priority, and it's something the industry doesn't talk about openly enough. Whether you're brand new or have years of experience, here are practical steps you can take right now to protect yourself.
Screen every client. Before agreeing to any booking, verify who you're dealing with. Ask for a contact number and check it's a real, active number. If a client refuses to give basic details or pressures you to skip screening, that's a red flag. Walk away. On Discretion, clients have accounts tied to verified email addresses, which gives you an additional layer of accountability.
Protect your real identity. Use a working name that's completely separate from your legal name. Set up a dedicated work phone number. A pay-as-you-go SIM or a VoIP number works well. Never use your personal social media, personal email, or real name in any communication with clients. On Discretion, your verified identity is never shared with anyone. Clients only see your working name.
Control your digital footprint. Reverse image search your profile photos regularly to check they haven't been stolen or posted elsewhere. Strip EXIF data from any photos you upload. Most smartphones embed your location in image metadata. Discretion automatically strips this data when you upload, but it's good practice to do it yourself too.
Incall safety. If you work from a fixed location, never give out the exact address until you've screened the client. Consider using a two-stage address system. Share the general area first, then the specific address closer to the booking time. Have a trusted friend or colleague who knows your schedule and can check in on you.
Outcall safety. Always tell someone where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be done. Share your live location with a trusted contact. Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong when you arrive, leave. No booking is worth your safety.
Red flags to watch for. Clients who refuse to give their name or number. Pressure to meet without screening. Requests to meet in unusual or isolated locations. Haggling on price. If they don't respect your rates, they won't respect your boundaries. Overly aggressive or sexual messages before a booking. Any of these should be treated as immediate deal-breakers.
Report concerns. If you encounter a client who makes you feel unsafe, report them. On Discretion, you can flag accounts directly. We take every report seriously and will permanently ban anyone who threatens the safety of our companions.
Your safety is non-negotiable. Take it seriously, trust your instincts, and never compromise on screening.
